Monster Energy/FAR/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki Riders Finish Top-10 in Ohio

Watkins got off to a great start in third and looked to move to the front of the pack. After crashing on the second lap, he remounted and moved his Kawasaki KX250F from the eighth position to finish a respectable fourth in the XC2 class.

It was really bad out there with all the dust, said Watkins. I made a mistake on the second lap and that cost me. I’m happy that I was able to make it up to fourth to get the points I needed.

With Watkins consistency, he currently sits just 11 points out of first place in the standings.

Teammate Cole Calkins started strong and was working with Watkins to pass riders in the extremely dusty conditions, but a low hanging tree branch took him off his bike. He got up and rode hard the remainder of the race, finishing ninth.

In the XC1 class, Jesse Robinson worked his way through the pack after a crash to finish in ninth place.

After the crash, I couldn’t see anything with all the dust, said Robinson. I will be working hard the next three weeks and go after them in Kentucky.

Dealer assist rider Brett Zofchak of Andrew’s Kawasaki (Salem, Ohio) captured his fifth win of the year in the Open A class on his Kawasaki KX450F.

In the Four-Stroke A Lites, Kawasaki privateer rider Scott McClure took his second win of the season and currently sits second in the point standings. Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green rider Andrew Matusek, who missed the last two rounds due to a hand injury, returned to race action to finish fourth.

The Monster Energy/FAR/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team heads to Sparta, Ky., on June 9, for round seven of the GNCC series.
