'From Here to Eternity,' NHRA-style
TOPEKA, Kan. (May 29)

AREND CONFIDENT TOPEKA WILL PROVIDE HIS JUST REWARDS
Worsham & Fink Racing
TOPEKA, Kan. (May 29, 2007)
Jeff Arend is now seven races into his first season behind the wheel of the blue Checker, Schuck's, Kragen Funny Car, but he's already learned one valuable lesson: Nothing comes easy out here. Taking over a fast running car, Arend did manage to get off to a great start, advancing to the semi-finals at the season opener in Pomona. Since then, he's run as well as the majority of drivers in the NHRA Funny Car class, and better than many, but close losses are a part of the game and Arend's results haven't always been commensurate with his performance.

WORSHAM SEES A TOPEKA WIN AS A CAPITAL IDEA
Worsham & Fink Racing
TOPEKA, Kan. (May 29, 2007)
The word "capital" has many meanings, starting with a city's designation as the seat of state or federal government. It also has a monetary connotation, referring to the cash on-hand needed to move forward with a business proposition. Additionally, it can be an adjective when placed in front of the word "idea", meaning "splendid" or "excellent." All of those definitions ring true to Checker, Schuck's, Kragen Funny Car driver Del Worsham, as he looks forward to this weekend's O'Reilly Summer Nationals, at Heartland Park Topeka.

JEGS U.S. Open Bracket Championship - Preview
Coughlin heads for Tri-State with dollar signs in his eyes
HAMILTON, Ohio (May 29)
John Coughlin’s main objective heading into the upcoming JEGS U.S. Open is simple – bring home as many dollars as possible. Coughlin will have a chance to do just that when the JEGS U.S. Open Bracket Championship, one of the richest E.T. racing events in the country, will take place May 31-June 3 at historic Tri-State Dragway near Cincinnati, Ohio. The JEGS U.S. Open Bracket Championship is the brainchild of veteran sportsman racers Mike Fuqua and Dave Szerlag and features four separate high stakes events; a $5,000 to win race on Thursday, a pair of $20,000 to win races on Friday and Saturday, and a $10,000 final, which will take place Sunday. There are also numerous bonus events, which will help bring the total payout for the event to more than $300,000. Last year, Coughlin’s younger brother, Jeg claimed the $10,000 top prize by winning Sunday’s main event.

Heartland Park Topeka
Topeka, Kan.
“I’m excited to come in as the points leader. We’ll have a lot of friends and family from our hometown (Rogers, Ark.). That’s the closest track to home. I raced there a lot at both bracket races and division races and I won as few times as a sportsmen racer. We’ll have the “great white shark” again, which we don’t like racing, but we need to continue winning rounds to attract a sponsor.”

With three consecutive top-five points finishes already in tow, and with what may be the best car and race-team combination he's ever competed with, the Torco Racing Fuels Chevy Cobalt driver is feeling bullish about his title chances in 2007.
