The inaugural Yas Drag Festival a great success as both Tommy Johnson, Jr. and Rod Fuller score three wins.
“Hot Rod” Fuller was the big winner on day two of the Yas Drag Festival taking two of three races against teammate Tommy Johnson, Jr. Both Fuller and Johnson finished the inaugural event at Yas Drag Centre with three wins each.

A field of more than 500 of the nation’s best sportsman drag racers has packed the pit area at No Problem Raceway Park in Belle Rose, La., for the opening day of the sixth annual JEGS NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals. The first of three SPORTSnationals events backed by JEGS Mail Order, the No Problem event has long been a favorite of racers across North America.

JOHNSON, JR. OUTDUELS FULLER IN DAY ONE OF YAS DRAG FESTIVAL

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (March 19, 2010)
Tommy Johnson, Jr. scored two wins Friday evening at Yas Drag Centre behind the wheel of his Yas Marina Circuit Top Fuel dragster during the Inaugural Yas Drag Festival. Teammate Rod Fuller notched one win light during the three match races in Abu Dhabi. Johnson also posted the quickest elapsed time of the day at 3.899-seconds.

Less than a day after pulling into the spectacular Yas Drag Centre at Yas Marina Circuit, the two Yas Top Fuel dragsters roared to life at NHRA’s first worldwide member track. Both Tommy Johnson, Jr. and Rod Fuller made test runs in their teal and white Top Fuelers before the inaugural Yas Drag Festival, March 19-20, begins on Friday.

AL-ANABI’S K.A. BALOOSHI BAGS SEMIFINAL FINISH IN BLOWN ALCOHOL DEBUT

No one would have been surprised if the first few events of the 2010 Get Screened America NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series were a little rough for the newly formed Al-Anabi Racing Pro Modified team. Led by veteran Pro Stock tuning minds Jeff Perley and Justin Elkes, Arabian Gulf Region standout driver K.A. Balooshi ventured into uncharted waters in his first competition outing at the controls of a supercharged, methanol burning Pro Mod. With only a few days testing to use as prior experience, the team rolled into the Tire Kingdom NHRA Gatornationals with realistic expectations.

Pro Mod Racer Rick Stivers Recovering from Emergency Surgery; set to return to driving by Houston Pro Mod event

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 15, 2010)
Rick Stivers, driver of the Brad Anderson-tuned Trane 2006 Stratus, was unable to attend the NHRA Gatornationals last weekend due to complications arising from routine medical screening he underwent a week before the first Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series event in Gainesville, Fla. He said he wanted to thank concerned drivers and fans for their encouragement and support since his operation.

The outing at Gainesville Raceway marked Johnson’s third straight semifinals appearance since the debut of his new Pro Stock Mopar® Dodge Avenger.

When old is new, and new is new, and both old and new run like new, good things can happen. Tim Wilkerson brought out a brand new 2010 Levi, Ray & Shoup Shelby Mustang here in Gainesville, and under that sleek beautiful body he placed a reinvented version of his 2008 chassis, featuring a new front half. This combination worked like a charm. At the end of the weekend, under sunny skies in Florida, Wilkerson and his LRS team had vanquished Jeff Arend, Matt Hagan, Tony Pedregon, and their alliance partner Bob Tasca to take home the Wally in Gator Country.
