LINE-UP CHANGE FOR MONZA

Round two of the 2008 FIA GT Championship takes place next week at Monza, the place where Italians go to worship motorsport. The ‘Pista Magica’, as Monza is known locally, is the fastest track on the FIA GT calendar, and it is one that every Ferrari team relishes. To win at Monza in a Ferrari is a special feeling for a racing driver so the CR Scuderia boys will be going all out to hit the top spot next weekend.

Wins at Mexico City and VIR have Stevenson in Contention

Stevenson Motorsport is on a roll with their new Pontiac GXP.R. Drivers Andrew Davis and Robin Liddell have posted impressive wins at Mexico City and Virginia International Raceway (VIR). The team will try to make it a hat-trick in round five of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 to be run at Laguna Seca Raceway May 17.

Series Champion and Porsche Veteran Join TRG For Next Round at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

Alex Figge Joins Tafel Racing
Open Wheel and Sports Car Racer to Share No. 73 Ferrari with Jim Tafel for Rest of '08

Tafel Racing announced today the addition of American Alex Figge to its 2008 driver lineup. The former Champ Car driver will share the No. 73 Tafel Racing Ferrari F430 GTC with owner/driver Jim Tafel (Alpharetta, Ga.) for the remainder of the American Le Mans Series season. Figge, who has seven career Series starts in the GT1 class, will make his GT2 debut with the Cumming, Ga.-based organization at the Utah Grand Prix on May 18. To date, the resident of Denver, CO. has an American Le Mans Series career- best finish of third (Portland, 2005).

Southard Motorsports Keeps Momentum Strong with Top-10 Finish in Virginia DP Feature
No. 3 Lexus-Riley Starts Ninth, Finishes Tenth in VIR 250
ALTON, Vir., April 27, 2008
Southard Motorsports kept on a roll scoring another top-10 finish in today's fourth round of the 2008 Grand- Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 season. Bill Lester (Atlanta, Ga.) and Shane Lewis (Jupiter, Fla.) started ninth in the Bosch Engineering 250 at Virginia International Raceway in the No. 3 Southard Motorsports Lexus- Riley and took the checkered flag in tenth. Today's finish again proved the strength of the small but focused team and kept the momentum on the side of the No. 3. It was the second top-10 finish for the Steve and Martha Southard (Powell, Ohio) owned team in 2008 and the fourth time that car ran consistently in or near the top-five.

Stevenson Motorsports posted their second straight GT class win today in round four of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 run at Virginia International Raceway (VIR). Riley-Matthews were the top finishing Pontiac Daytona Prototype (DP) team coming in third.

Audi youngsters take lead in LMS
- Prémat/Rockenfeller second at Monza
- Controversial collision costs possible victory
- Capello/McNish in the points despite accident
With a second-place finish at the 1000-kilometre race at Monza (Italy), the two Audi drivers Mike Rockenfeller (24) and Alexandre Prémat (26) took the lead in the drivers’ standings of the European Le Mans Series. Shortly before the end of the turbulent endurance race they were even leading the field with their Audi R10 TDI before being deprived of their chance for victory by a controversial collision.
