Jimmy Kite To Open 2006 Season with History Making PRA Event

CLERMONT, IND., May 12, 2006

Jimmy Kite LogoIt isn’t often a 30 year-old driver gets to debut a 50 year-old concept in a brand new race series. However, that is just what Jimmy Kite will do on Wednesday, May 17 at Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP) when the Premier Racing Association (PRA) opens its inaugural Big Car Series season at the .686-mile oval. It is only fitting that Kite, who will be starting his fourth consecutive season driving the No. 5 Westcon Elevator/ Westcon Racing Bloomer Engines Beast, is on the large entry list for the Circle City 100. He is among the few drivers under the age of 40 to make the move from quarter-midget race cars to midgets to sprint cars into the powerful “Big Cars on his way to becoming a regular in the IRL IndyCar Series. He has continued to return to the “Big Cars— traditional front-engined, open cockpit, tube-framed race cars— throughout his career in Indy cars and NASCAR stock car racing. The 1997 Copper World Classic USAC Silver Crown winner will be attempting to make the feature event in the inaugural PRA event against a field of over 50 cars.
