The 2010 DTM season that will start at the Hockenheimring on April 25, 2010 is marked by maximum efficiency: Audi will compete with the known model generations of the Audi A4 DTM and is expecting a potential to reduce the fielding cost by more than 30 percent without the sport losing any of its attractiveness to fans, media, drivers and teams. The freeze on the technical development of all DTM vehicles has enabled this step.

- Audi “factory” driver Martin Tomczyk has changed his diet
- A half-year winter break packed with excitement and adventure
Exactly 183 days will have passed between the 2009 DTM finale and the 2010 season opener at the Hockenheimring (April 24) - this equates to just about half a year, which is an extremely long break for a sportsman. But as the example of Martin Tomczyk who is tackling his tenth DTM season in 2010 shows the winter season was anything but boring for the Audi "factory" drivers.

- Two lifestyle magazines as media partners
Markus Winkelhock and Katherine Legge will be in for some completely new challenges in the 2010 DTM: for the first time, both of them will compete as team colleagues for Audi Sport Team Rosberg. That the driver from southern Germany’s "Swabia" region will continue to advertise the men’s magazine "Playboy" on the Audi A4 DTM while Katherine Legge will represent the colors of "Glamour" magazine should add a dose of lifestyle spice to the DTM - and can be expected to inspire the media to come up with some clever comparisons and puns.

Head of Audi-Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich had every reason to be pleased with the excellent team spirit, physical fitness and strong motivation his drivers displayed at the annual winter camp held during the last week of February. Even the four drivers who experienced the team training in Bavaria’s "Oberallgäu" region for the first time perfectly blended in with the team.

DTM countdown: Alexandre Prémat and Mike Rockenfeller to be “united again”

- 2008 LMS title winners united in a DTM team for the first time
- New motivation for Rockenfeller, Prémat concentrates on DTM
In a manner of speaking, the 2010 DTM will see the two Audi "factory" drivers Alexandre Prémat and Mike Rockenfeller experience a "reunion." The two finished the 2008 season as team colleagues in Audi Sport Team Joest at the wheel of the Audi R10 TDI by winning the European Le Mans Series but have always contested the DTM for different teams - the Frenchman for Audi Sport Team Phoenix, the German for Audi Sport Team Rosberg. Now, for the first time, both will be team-mates at the wheel of two Audi A4 DTM cars fielded by Phoenix.

Nine weeks before the 2010 DTM season starts, Audi’s driver line-up for the most popular international touring car racing series is complete. Since Le Mans record winner Tom Kristensen will fully concentrate on sports car racing in the Audi R15 TDI in 2010, the young Spaniard Miguel Molina will join the team as a new member.

There is one Audi driver who is looking forward to the opener of the new DTM season at the Hockenheimring on April 25 with particularly eager anticipation: Oliver Jarvis. Jarvis, who at the age 26 is the youngest Audi "factory" driver, will take the place of Le Mans record winner Tom Kristensen in Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline to make his debut in the most popular international touring car series in a current-specification Audi A4 after a two-year "apprenticeship" in a prior-spec model. This automatically moves him into the group of candidates for the title.
