Audi aims to defend DTM championship lead
- Timo Scheider comes as championship leader to EuroSpeedway
- All four new Audi A4 DTM hold top 6 positions in championship
- Last Audi win in the Lausitz in 2005
Hockenheim, Oschersleben, Mugello and now the EuroSpeedway - the action moves on quickly in the 2008 DTM. Only 14 days after the excursion to Italy the most popular international touring car series returns to Germany. Audi aims to defend the DTM championship lead at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz.

1-2 Victory for the AMG Mercedes C-Class

Jamie Green (Salzgitter AMG Mercedes C-Class) won the third round of the 2008 DTM in Mugello, Italy. Paul Di Resta (AMG Mercedes C-Class) came home second. The first win of the year for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class was the 142nd for the brand out of 303 DTM/ITC races since 1988 and the 86th 1-2 victory.

Audi defends DTM lead
- Tom Kristensen clinches third place for Audi at Mugello
- Timo Scheider continues heading the leaderboard
- Five Audi A4 DTM cars in the points
At the DTM’s Italian round, Audi defended its overall lead. Although scoring no points at Mugello after a jump start, Audi driver Timo Scheider continues heading the leaderboard. Tom Kristensen clinched third place for Audi in an action-packed race. A total of five A4 DTM cars finished in the top eight, and thus in the points.

Third pole in a row for Audi driver Timo Scheider
- Championship leader starts from top of the grid at Mugello too
- Eighth consecutive pole position for Audi in DTM
- Three Audi A4 DTM cars on first two rows of the grid
Audi driver Timo Scheider remains "the man to be beaten" in the DTM: at the third race of the season the German in his GW:plus/Top Service Audi A4 DTM will start from the pole position as well. At Mugello (Italy), Scheider managed a perfect lap at the crucial moment of qualifying, resulting in a gap of over three tenths of a second to the rest of the field.

Mugello is a dream for many racers. Audi driver Tom Kristensen, who started from the front row last year in Italy, explains why he is particularly fond of the circuit in Tuscany. Over a distance of 5.245 kilometres, the demanding course offers various cornering radii and numerous differences in elevation. The third race of the 2008 DTM season will be broadcast live on Sunday starting at 1:45 p.m. on "Das Erste".
