Buell Motorcycle Company and AMA Pro Racing today announced a multi-year partnership that will see Buell provide the Official Pace and Safety Bikes of AMA Pro Road Racing. As part of this unique agreement, specially outfitted Buell Ulysses and 1125R motorcycles will pace the opening laps of each AMA Pro Road Racing event and be used during caution periods for all AMA Pro Road Racing classes.

Pioneers in motocross technology and apparel join AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame

Katy Wood named operations manager for AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum

PICKERINGTON, Ohio


The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) announced today that Katy Wood has been named the Operations Manager for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum. Wood will be responsible for managing the museum's vast motorcycle, literature and memorabilia collections and ensuring care of all loaned objects. Wood will also oversee museum staff, volunteers, and the on-line store and gift shop.

Munich. Staff and fans of BMW Motorrad are looking forward to March 1st 2009 with great excitement. At the introductory race to the Superbike World Championship in Phillip Island / Australia, two BMW motorcycles will be in the starting line-up for the first time. After recent tests in Portimao and Valencia, riders Troy Corser and Ruben Xaus are optimistic about the future and the mood in the BMW Motorrad Motorsport team is positive. The racing bikes will be fairly close to serial production models, allowing for the greater audience identification characteristic of the sport. Behind the scenes meanwhile, production of the serial machine is getting underway: the BMW S 1000 RR.

Total Purse More Than Doubles 2008 Payout; $1.5 Million Apiece For Premier Classes

With a combined total of over $3.3 million in purse money and cash bonuses posted for the AMA Pro American Superbike, AMA Pro Daytona SportBike, AMA Pro SuperSport and AMA Pro SunTrust Moto-GT championships next season, the total posted payout for the 2009 AMA Pro Road Racing season is more than double the total 2008 purse, AMA Pro officials announced today. The rich prize-money pool includes traditional race-event purse payouts as well as lucrative bonuses through the new AMA Pro Road Racing PaceSetter Program.
