BMW MOTORRAD MOTORSPORT RETURNS TO LE MANS WITH TWO FACTORY TEAMS
Woodcliff Lake, NJ - April 16, 2008
The BMW Motorrad Motorsport team is making final preparations to compete in the 2008 FIM Qtel Endurance World Championship. The first event in this year's six-round championship will take place April 19 and 20 at Le Mans, France.
BMW Motorrad team members are looking forward to returning to the historic Bugatti circuit for the '24 Hours Moto of Le Mans' race. Last year, the factory team marked its return to world championship motorcycle racing with a fantastic result at the grueling 24 hour race in France, ending with a win in its class and a highly impressive 16th overall after 776 laps on the modified R 1200 S sports boxer.

Nina Prinz takes impressive win at Misano on YZF-R1

During the first round of the European Championship Road Racing Women’s 1000cc held at Misano Adriatico (Italy) last weekend, Nina Prinz (Team Yamaha Motor Germany) debuted on the R1 and took it to an impressive victory. The reigning European champion, from Mannheim/Leutkirch in Germany, had been consistently fast during all qualifying sessions and dominated throughout the weekend, even during qualifying where she competed against many men from the open class.

Richie Morris Racing Buell Second in GST Final Standings
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 20, 2007) – The James Gang Racing/Hoban Brothers Buell XB12R sponsored by Buell of Appleton and Darkhorse Crankworks and ridden by Paul James, Jeff Johnson and Walt Sipp finished third in the Grand Sport Touring (GST) class in the 8 Hours At Daytona, the sixth and final round of the SunTrust MOTO-ST Series for motorcycle endurance racing. Despite a minor mid-race crash, the team completed 216 laps of the Daytona International Speedway road course, and finished three laps behind the class-winning Touring Sport Ducati entry (Doug Polen/Peter Friedland/Frank Shockley), clinching third place overall in the final season GST points standings.

Yamaha GMT94 Win the Bol d’Or 24hrs
French-run Team Yamaha GMT94 took the chequered flag in the famous but also grueling Bol D’Or 24hrs Endurance race this weekend, completing 801 laps on their YZF-R1 machine and beating second place by five laps. The race took place at the circuit of Magny-Cours (France) in front of almost 100,000 spectators; it started at 15.00 hrs on Saturday and ran through the night to finish at 15.00 hrs on Sunday afternoon.

ESTOK LOCKS UP THUNDERBIKE TITLE ON BUELL AT SUMMIT POINT

Deeley H-D/Buell Canada/Ruthless Racing rider Dave Estok secured the 2007 American Sportbike Racing Association (ASRA) Pro Thunderbike Championship with a win aboard a Buell XB12R at the Summers End Cyclefest at Summit Point Motorsports Park. It was Estok’s fifth Thunderbike National win of the 2007 season. His only rival for the title, Hal’s H-D/Buell/Hal’s Speed Shop rider Dan Bilansky, finished fourth on a Buell at Summit Point, leaving Estok with an insurmountable 50-point lead with one race left on the schedule.
