Douglas Motorsports CORR/ WSORR Double Duty Report

El Cajon, CA – (May 25, 2007)

The second weekend of racing in the 2007 Championship Off-Road Racing series saw competitors from all over the country descend upon the Los Angles Fairplex in Pomona, California. The long standing facility is famous for its NHRA drag racing facility, and is home to the NHRA Wally Parks Motorsports Museum. The Fairplex also hosts live thoroughbred racing and was once the primary venue for Mickey Thompson’s Off-Road Gran Prix. When it comes to racing the LA Fairplex is rich in its history.

OPENING WEEKEND OF OFF-ROAD SEASON FINDS HANKOOK IN PRIME SHAPE

WAYNE, NJ (May 23, 2007)

Hankook Tire shouldered their way to two podium finishes at their first off-road event of the year, the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR). Team Sticker Dude racing-mates Steven Federico and Lee O’Donnell, competing in the Pro-Light division, brought home second and third place finishes, respectively.

Waldvogel Starts the Season Strong with Three Fourth-Place Finishes at the Owatonna Off-Road Nationals.

Fond du Lac, WI - May 24, 2007

The Waldvogel Off-Road Racing Team returned from their first weekend of competition in the high-horsepower World Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR) Super Stock Truck class with their chins up after nabbing fourth place finishes in each of three races entered. 2007 is driver Dave Waldvogel’s first season competing in the Super Stock Truck class, which is a huge step up from the Stock Truck class where he has competed since 2003.

Scott Taylor Takes Two in Minnesota

Belvidere, IL – May 23, 2007

The opening weekend of the 2007 Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing saw Scott Taylor come to Owatonna, Minnesota with a brand new PRO-2WD truck for the 2007 season. Taylor Racing had built a new truck for 2006, but Scott and his crew decided to take advantage of some lessons learned from the 2006 season, and build another Ford F-150. Scott called upon Russ Wernimont, once again, to aid in the design of the new truck.

Ben Wandahsega of Bark River, Michigan, driver of the Forest County Potawatomi / Toyo Tires Chevy Silverado truck scored double victories in the Stock Super Truck class during the first-ever weekend of the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR) at Owatonna, Minnesota. Driving on LT285/75R16 Open Country M/T™ tires from Toyo, Wandahsega dominated the field of competitors over the course of two days while facing extremely different track conditions.

SKYJACKER’S SCOTT TAYLOR SWEEPS FIRST TWO ROUNDS IN WSORR INAUGURAL EVENT

OWATONNA, Minn.

Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road RacingVeteran off-road racer Scott Taylor came charging out of the gate in the Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing marquee PRO 2WD division battle in his Skyjacker/BF Goodrich Ford and won both rounds of the historic first-ever event of the series in the WSORR Tour 2007 opener in Owatonna, Minn. Both days, Taylor battled hard at the Steele County Fairgrounds track and swapped the lead with rivals, particularly the Forest County Potawatomi/BF Goodrich sponsored Chevrolet driven by Evan Evans. Mechanical issues prevented Evans from finishing on the podium either day although he led both races for a number of laps in the hotly contested battles. In Round I, Mike Oberg’s Amsoil/Kumho Ford finished second and Kevin Probst’s SimplyWow/Toyo/Chevrolet was third. Round II reversed that order with Probst in second and Oberg third.

WSORR Racer Contingency Shatters All-Time Record for Off-Road Racing

Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road RacingThe Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing announced today it will kick off the 2007 short course off-road racing season with a record $1,668,068 contingency program. “I’ve been involved in off-road racing for 38 years and have never seen a number this large in any form of off-road racing,” said Cliff Flannery, vice president, WSORR. “This huge commitment by sponsors says a lot about our style of off-road racing, WSORR racers and our Series,” said Flannery.
